Soundmuseum.fm is the first online museum for contemporary Sound Art
intitated by sound artist Nathalie Bruys and designer Katja van
Stiphout.
Soundmuseum.fm marks a transformation of context for sound art with
its presentation of contemporary international works in optimum
conditions: the virtual, dimensionless surroundings of the World Wide
Web and its networked listening communities.
Soundmuseum.fm is set up as a real museum, and in this context, the
curators and editorial staff carefully assemble the audio collection
of Soundmuseum.fm, in line with their particular vision. The museum
consists of a gallery, a depot and a listening room. Visitors enter
through the gallery, and the depot forms the core of the museum – a
stable archive of sound files that can be accessed by anyone.
