In the last months, new wireless access technologies have appeared (WIMAX, UMTS TDD, 802.10, i-Burst, Navini, etc…) with important functionalities and benefits for fixed and mobile services.
These technologies are grouped under the name of “Mobile Broadband Wireless Access (MBWA)” and they share two main characteristics: speeds from 384 Kbps up to 4 Mbps and freedom of movement (remaining connection).
AUNA, with radio licence at 3.5 GHz and 26 GHz, has studied two pre-WIMAX solutions in the Innovation Center. The results open new possibilities in terms of services and types of deployments.
The seminar will show the main technical characteristics of WiMAX and it will specify some of the risks and opportunities of MBWA in the Spanish telecom.
