Autumn is an application that creates, or rather grows, melodies by the interactive growing and selection of tree like lifeforms.

The enviroment is a simple plane populated by a number of trees, forming a forest (current tests involve populations of a 20 to 50 trees). As trees grow, they give off fragments of song as a side effect to their growth. The player can move a listener object around the forest to pick up (or mix between) different trees. The player may also be able to guide evolution by removing trees or taking them into another mode (a greenhouse) where they can be individually mutated – this bit is TBC. Trees seeds will be able to be saved and reintroduced to forests later on. The player will be able to use this to save melodies that are pleasing and evolve them further – again TBC.
