Ripple Enables Hearing Impaired People To Feel And Enjoy Music
When a hearing impaired person says I have ‘felt’ Elton John’s ‘Sacrifice’ and I really loved it, don’t assume the person gone crazy since he or she owns a Ripple for sure. This speaker uses the vibration of music to stimulate the particular part of a deaf person’s brain that gets activated when a person with no hearing difficulties listen to music and contains an oscilloscope to show the wave patterns of the sound. The main focus of the project is to explore the possibility of perceiving music through touch and sight, instead of sound. With multi leveled vibration inputs, the needle rises and lowers accordingly to give a feel of the sound and visualizes the frequency on the oscilloscope to make the hearing impaired person able to feel the music.
