Una idea estupenda
Literal:
The music box project is a series work I have done for years.
The first work was a simple reproduction of a small musicbox that I found by accident in 2000. When I played the musicbox for the first time, I was deeply impressed by the simplicity of its mechanism. By playing it once, I could clearly understand what every part of the small machine did and how each of them were connected and worked to make its sound. That was probably the first machine I had seen which exposed its entire mechanism with no other hidden device with its secret function in it. Until I turned the handle of the musicbox, I used to be in awe of the complexity of mechanical systems; the more complex a mechanism was, the greater respect, the more admiration, and the more fear I had. Its sound, however, with its too simple and easy structure, reached everywhere I could see, I could think, through space, through time, and through memory. I wanted to reproduce that experience on the web in a faint hope that somewhere, maybe someone could share that moment.
