DJ Static and Professor Groove began broadcasting WEFUNK to Montreal in 1996 over the airwaves of CKUT (McGill University). We did about 18 months of late-night biweekly shows before WEFUNK settled into prime Friday night party hours – midnight to 2am – in January 1998. Early that year we began webcasting the shows, and this grew into what you see now. We’re still bumpin’ Montreal every Friday night on CKUT, and we bring the show to you 24/7 here on wefunkradio.com.
