There are some fundamental principles regarding the construction of an acoustically healthy society, one where we can exist within the sounds of life. Respect towards voice and words, sonic awareness, the awakening of the sense of hearing. To preserve the sounds that tend to fade out, while remaining open to the sounds that spring out of each technological stride. To build an aural idiom that interprets its own symbolism. To accept the silence, enforcing it in the due moments. And, above all else, to listen.

This film makes me perplexed. I don’t like the editing: much too flicky, thus it doesn’t allow to take time and get into real issues. Also the field-recorders shots are quite ridiculous: they really look like strange guys making strange things.
What you say is true, but the value of the documentary is in the speech, in defense of listening compared to other senses. The author is preparing a revision and will soon publish a document of an hour.
Good ears
When I watched the video I thought the same. The value is in the speech, of course, and the contents are really interesting, but I don’t understand why they have edited the images in such a way, is absolutely nonsense. If you are trying to defense the hearing compared to other senses you should focus on sound, not on some flashy edits just for the sake of it. Form and content should be integrated.
estoy seguro que en el largo habrá chicha, porque tiene otros trabajos realmente prometedores. Fíjate en este Blanca:

Really interesting idea but still in a work in progress kind of phase. Gosto mas espero pelo resultado final com alguma curiosidade. Aliás será o filme ideal para o sonoplasta brilhar…coisa rara na realidade da produção audiovisual portuguesa
