Sound Development City is a project which enables a close exchange between artists of various backgrounds. In the annual summer expeditions taking place in different cities, selected artists working with music, performance and in other cultural fields experience and revive urban spaces. By doing so, Sound Development City aims to give artists the opportunity and space to develop their own approaches while engaging with the given theme. At the same time, it provides a platform that encourages artistic encounters between different disciplines.

The summer expedition by Sound Development City is financed by Sound Development, participation is thus free of charge. Travel costs and expenses are covered throughout the expedition. For the individual travel from Lisbon to Marseille artists receive a per diem allowance, as well as an Interrail ticket. Additionally, participating artists receive a one-time stipend of 3,000€ from Sound Development.
