ARTE Radio
ARTE Radio is a web radio on demand. It features hundreds of reports and sound creations to listen to whenever you feel like it. It is a creation of ARTE France, the French side of ARTE, the European cultural channel. It is strictly non-commercial, with no advertising or promotion.
Listen to elaborate audio shorts, ranging in style from moving to fun, from instructive to teasing, and covering topics such as intimacy, lifestyle, politics, the world, poetry and the imaginary. All are made with the resources of sound writing – without music or commentary – but with great emphasis placed on sound recording, editing and mixing. And with an original point of view, at times – we hope.
ARTE Radio works like a sound magazine, offering new material each week. It is also a sound library, with all its programmes kept in archives. You can download all ARTE Radio’s programmes under Creative Commons free licence, for private, non-commercial use. You can receive new programmes each week on your computer and digital audio player, thanks to podcasting. You will find details below and further explanations in the “HELP” page. The ARTE Radio project was started in 2002 by Silvain Gire and Christophe Rault. It is run by a merry team of 5 members of staff, sharing 3 full-time jobs on a part-time basis, and a handful of regular contributors.
